Health Insurance
All incoming students must have valid health insurance during their stay in Türkiye.
If you wish to use insurance from your home country, your insurance provider must have a contracted office or representative in Türkiye.
Türkiye has bilateral Social Security Agreements with 19 countries covered by health insurance provisions. Students from these countries may benefit from health services in Türkiye within the scope of these agreements and in accordance with the relevant procedures.
Countries Covered by Health Insurance Agreements
Germany, Albania, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, France, Croatia, Netherlands, Italy, Montenegro, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Tunisia, North Macedonia, Luxembourg.
Students from these countries must obtain a “Health Insurance Entitlement Certificate” from their local social security office before arrival. After arriving in Türkiye, this document must be approved by the Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu (SGK).
Students may also purchase private health insurance from local Turkish insurance agencies after arrival. ESN mentor students can assist you with this process.
